- How does online tutoring work?
Classes are held on Google Meet or Zoom, where the tutor uses Screen Share to teach and complete activities. We use Jamboard and Google Docs to teach, while collaborating with students. Everything is organized through Google Calendar so parents and students are all on the same page. Tutors prepare lessons ahead of time, but are also available to assist the student with whatever they may need during the session.
- How does in-person tutoring work?
Tutoring sessions are held in the students' home and will be scheduled at a convenient time for both the student and the tutor. The tutor will be connected with the parent or student prior to the first class. In-person tutoring sessions are designed to support the students with their individualized needs. Tutors plan ahead of time for these classes, while also offering support for assignments, homework, or test prep.
- How are tutors assigned to students?
NT Tutoring assigns tutors to students based on content knowledge, experience, and personality.
- Am I able to meet the tutor prior to the first session?
Absolutely! Tutors are available and excited to chat before the first session. Tutors also want to gather as much information about their student so they can plan accordingly for the first tutoring session.
- How does payment work?
NT Tutoring bills at the end of each month for all of the sessions completed during that month. Payment is completed by e-transfer.
